Make a Joyful Noise to the Lord all the Earth! What a beautiful week of Fall weather we've had this week. Thursday was the perfect day to celebrate Thanksgiving with our class. Kimberly and Eric Johnson were our wonderful parent hosts for the day. This dynamic duo planned everything from games (Duck, Duck, Turkey! and Turkey Hunt) to songs (of both the worshipful and the far-out silly variety) to crafts to a tasty lunch feast! Kimberly and Eric, we are so thankful for you! And I am thankful for all of you families and students, too! How blessed I am to be your teacher. Here are some important announcements about what's coming up: *No school next week! Enjoy your Thanksgiving Break! *While you are with your families next week, would you please take a picture of your family gathered around your Thanksgiving table? Email them to me. I'd like to use these for our study of the artist Norman Rockwell. (See the painting at this link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_from_Want) *Remember to work on your page for our class book. This is due on or before December 4. Email me a picture of your child to include on the Author Page. *Mrs. Glenda and I will be working on a short Christmas program with the students in lieu of the big Christmas Program the school has done in the past. Mrs. Gibbons will be filming our class and sending out a video that will include something from each grade level at Oak Grove. * Pray that we will be able to continue to meet in person for the two-and-a-half weeks between Thanksgiving Break and Christmas Break. *Our class Christmas Party will be our last day of school before Christmas Break - December 15. *December 16 is the end of the second 9-weeks of school. With Grateful Heart, Mrs. Duckworth

This week, I shared my Some Good News (SGN) with the Red and Blue classes. This video will give you an idea of how it will go. Your student can share 3-5 SGN stories during their presentation. They can use props, pictures, or drawings. Remember to factor in your child's personality - if they are outgoing, they won't have a hard time sharing in front of their classmates; if they are really shy, they may get up there and clam up. Don't worry, I'll be there to coach them in getting their stories told! We will do SGN's during Morning Meeting (9:00 a.m.)

To give you a little more time to start preparing, we will start the week of August 31 - September 4.

Red Class sharing: Blue Class sharing:

I expect your student's SGN will take 2-3 minutes. I will video these and upload them here on the website.

    Cheers!
    Mrs. Duckworth
