This week went by so fast! We are spending a lot of time practicing and preparing for graduation!
 
In math, we did some review of the last fews units and then talked about the 12 months of the year! For reading, we drew Biff just based off verbal descriptions and then read "Biff and the Bathtub"! We then talked about how our drawings compared to the illustration and then talked about how we might describe him differently after seeing what he really looked liked! This week in handwriting we got to talk about some different jobs and then write about our favorite fruits!
 
In Bible, we took a break from our big storybook Bible and reviewed some our our favorite stories of the Old Testament! We also got to do a 10 Commandments craft to help as we learn them! For the rest of the year we will be reading a book that goes along with our storybook Bible and helps connect the Old and New Testament together in a broader overview. We are working our new catechism, they are doing a great job with the first 5 Commandments, and we will be adding the last 5 next week!
 
We are wrapping up our habitats study with oceans and we got to learn about some really cool people! Eugene Clark, who spent her life diving into learning about sharks, and Jacques Cousteau, who invented the aqualung, were a lot of fun to learn about! We will finish some of our ocean projects next week!
 
Don't forget our Animal Report are due next week! Can't wait to hear what animal everyone chose!

We had a fun and busy week! We are having a lot of fun getting for graduation!
 
In math, we are working on number recognition and skip counting up to 100. For reading, we read "Ducks in a Truck", talked about the differences between short and long vowels sounds, and learned about syllables! Handwriting has been fun as we get to talked about our opinion on different things!
 
In Bible, we finished up the Old Testament by talking about Zechariah and Malachi and looking forward to the coming of Jesus! It was a lot of fun to talk about these guys! We started our new catechism, and are focusing on the first 5 Commandments!
 
This week we had a super fun time learning about the rainforest! We talked about a rainforest's characteristics, what animals called the rainforest home, and learned about the different layers of the rainforest!

Eclipse Day was so much fun! We did some fun activities to learn about the eclipse and had a special Eclipse snack!
 
In math, we are working on number recognition and skip counting up to 50. For reading, we are introducing some new sounds, especially for our vowels and dud some fun creative problem-solving! This week we also got to introduce opinion/argument writing!
 
In Bible, we got to talk about a few minor prophets including Amos and Jonah! It was a lot of fun to talk about these guys! We started our new catechism, and as this catechism is learning the 10 Commandments, we will be spending some time here.
 
We are having fun with the habitats and this week we focus on the savanna! We got to read a book on Tanzania and learn some fun Swahili words!

We fit a lot into our day and had a great Wednesday!
 
In math, we are working on number recognition up to 30 and addition between 20-30. For reading, we read "Pip the Milkman"! Handwriting, we were able to write some sentences about the desert!
 
In Bible, we are reading in Daniel and talked about the story of the writing on the wall as well as him putting God first and having to face the lion's den! They have done a great job of learning our new catechism: What does the Law of God require? That we love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength; and love our neighbor as ourselves. We will start our new one next week!
 
We will be learning about habitats for the next few weeks and we did switch it up by actually starting with deserts this week! It was fun talking about all the different characteristics of a desert and what animals might live there!
 
Next week is going to be an exciting week! Monday we have the eclipse, and while it means we will be getting out of school early, it also means fun snacks and activities! I will be bringing in moon pies and SunnyD to celebrate! 
 
Also, the kiddos filled up the classroom star jar again! They chose another movie as a class reward and I also told them they could bring in a stuffy. On Wednesday, we will be watching VeggieTales "Josh and the Big Wall".

Happy Good Friday Everyone!
 
It was such a beautiful week and perfect for our Easter Party! It was so much fun adventuring over to Mrs. Duckworth's house and getting to do Easter activities!
 
In math, everyone is doing a great job with subtraction! For reading, we read "The Lost List" and worked on reviewing sounds! Handwriting were are still working through informational writing and completing sentences!
 
In Bible, we started reading in Daniel and learned about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! They are doing a great job of learning our new catechism: What does the Law of God require? That we love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength; and love our neighbor as ourselves. 
 
We did a lot of fun Easter activities in class to celebrate and remember the death and resurrection of Jesus!

It was so much fun getting to hear about everyone's Spring Break! We had a great week to kick off our last 9 weeks!
 
Thank you guys so much for the sweet gifts! I appreciate you all so much! The luncheon was wonderful and I know there was a lot of behind the scenes that went into so thank you guys for pouring out in this way!
 
In math, we are working on subtraction! We worked om what it would look like as a number equation and also as word problems! For reading, we reviewed rhyming, consonant teams, and read "Fast Fun"! Trying to say tongue twisters was so fun and we loved getting to read some poems and rhyming stories! Handwriting were are still working through informational writing and completing sentences!
 
In Bible, we learned about the weeping prophet, Jeremiah, and the story of Ezekiel and the valley of the dry bones! They are doing a great job of learning our new catechism: What does the Law of God require? That we love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength; and love our neighbor as ourselves. 
 
I cannot believe this week was the start of spring! We got to read some fun spring books and doing some fun spring animals crafts!
 
We are also beginning to prepare for Graduation 😞 So sad to think the end of the year is quickly approaching!

In math,  we started working on subtraction! For reading, we reviewed plurals and did some fun reading activities! We also got to do our book reports and it was so much fun getting to hear about everyone's different books! Everyone did such a good job and I was so proud of how confident they all were!
 
In Bible, we read Psalm 23  talked about the wisdom in Proverbs, and started talking about the prophets, beginning with Isaiah! We also started our new catechism: What does the Law of God require? That we love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength; and love our neighbor as ourselves. 
 
We got to learn about Dr. Seuss this week! We read "The Lorax" and "The Cat in the Hat" and did some fun related activities! We also got to do some Dr. Seuss themed reading and math activities!
