For this project, we will be practicing using and editing a template in Microsoft Word.
- To begin, select the “Business Event Flyer” template on Microsoft Word
- Choose a business to make the brochure for.
- Research that business, for this project you will need:
- Three facts or details about the business
- At least one quote from the business website
- One photo that relates to your business of choice
- The business logo and address
- Citation information
- Create a flyer for an imaginary event for this business. Fill in the flyer with the information you have gathered, making sure to update all available areas.
- Insert a page break, and create a works cited page in MLA format.

Microsoft Word Assignment #3: Draw a Comic Strip in Word
Comic Strip Requirements:
- Your comic must have 4 or more “boxes”
- Your comic must include one or more characters and have dialogue
- Be creative and use lots of shapes. Try to use a variety of different kinds of shapes to show the characters and their environment
- Use at least one clip art picture to show the environment
Instruction:
Open a new file in Microsoft Word to begin your comic book project. Write the title of the comic and your name at the top of the page.
Create the comic strip template you will use for your images and words. Use the "Drawing" function to draw a box the size you want. Then copy and paste to reproduce the box to form a strip.
Insert pictures into your comic strip by clicking in the box where you want the image to appear, then select Insert – Picture – Search on Web. Search for your desired background or picture in the search bar, and filter to Clip Art only.
Add drawings, text, and other details by right clicking in the desired box. Select “Draw” or “Edit Drawing” to access the range of options available. Once you have edited your box, you can exit the drawing popup and select the next box.
Save your comic as “wordcomic_yourname” and print or share the file.
