About Mrs. Horenburg

My name is Kimber Horenburg and I am excited about partnering with you this year teaching high school science and math. This is my seventh year teaching at Oak Grove. I have over 15 years of experience teaching at Christian homeschool cooperatives and at a West Knoxville Christian learning center. I also enjoyed 12 wonderful years of experience as a homeschool teacher for my children. The Lord has given me the opportunity to teach, tutor, and provide cognitive and processing enhancement to elementary, middle school, and high school students with diverse learning styles, abilities, and disabilities. I am thankful for the opportunity to creatively inspire and motivate students to succeed academically as they fulfill the plans and purposes God has established for their lives.

My husband Jim and I have 3 boys (Jacob, Zachary, and Joshua) and have recently become empty nesters! Our youngest son, who was homeschooled 1st through 12th grade, recently completed his electrical engineering degree at Tennessee Tech and, is working as an ID&C Engineer for National Aerospace. The older two are also college graduates pursuing their respective careers in Knoxville and Nashville. My husband and I love the outdoors and recently took up paddleboarding! It has become one of our favorite summertime activities. I also enjoy kayaking, water skiing, swimming, hiking, music, and spending time with family.
