Upcoming Week: 2/12-2/16
Hello Everyone!!
We had a great week learning all about how we are country of immigrants-built by the hard work and ingenuity of people who came to the US for freedom and opportunity. We also learned about the Roaring Twenties,The Great Depression,Prohibition and the rise of organized crime during that time period. On Friday we watched a scene from a Charlie Chaplin silent film, listened to the “Little Orphan Annie” radio show from 1935 and played a bingo game to see how much they retained from the week. I was super proud of how much they remembered!!
This week we are kind of going back into time for a bit to delve into the Gilded Age and the Robber Barons that made the era super prosperous before the crash, but then for the second half of the week we will concentrate on FDR’s New Deal and all of the ways the government tried to help America get back on her feet.
It’s also a chapel week and Valentine’s Day(and the dance)-so say a little prayer I can get all of that in and keep their attention! Haha
HEADS UP:
I will be switching the syllabus up a bit next week and the following to give us a little more class time to learn all about WW2 so keep your eyes open for that!
ALSO:
The prize box is running a little low. We could use some prizes,or candy or even some slightly used squishmallows. 😬😂
They have been a huge hit!
