Oak Grove Homeschool Cooperative is pleased to announce the hiring of our new Curriculum and Instruction Specialist, Mrs. Lydia Zinn. Lydia is already a familiar face in the co-op as a long-time teaching parent and former board member.
Lydia previously served as a teacher at Catholic High School here in Knoxville and as an instructor in the English Department at the University of Tennessee, where she also served on the Navigators Campus Ministry staff.
An honors graduate of Hardin-Simmons University (BA) and the University of Tennessee (MA, MS), Lydia is committed to cooperative homeschool education. She writes:
“In my experience, the co-op environment has many benefits for a homeschool family. For me, community has been the biggest benefit. I love having other moms and dads to share the experience with; I love that my kids have a classroom experience and school friends they are growing with; I love having a classroom teacher who is speaking into my child’s life (and sometimes mine); I love that we have accountability that keeps us on track throughout the school year; and I love giving back by contributing to the homeschooling experience of others.”
We welcome Lydia to our staff and pray for the Lord’s blessing on her work. If you would like to reach out to her with any questions about curriculum at Oak Grove, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
